Frequently asked questions!

I have strict hygiene standards and follow a code of conduct which can be seen on CAFABA, using one sponge per face, using only cosmetic grade glitter, NEVER craft glitter, keep my tools and area clean.

Is there a minimum age to be face painted?
Face painting on a child less than 3 years of age is not advised by CAFABA (the Canadian Association of Face and Body Artists) but at my discretion I will paint on their arm instead.
How long does it take to paint a face?
Each face takes approximately 4-6 minutes depending on the chosen design, this should be taken into account when booking a party.
When can you not paint a child?
I cannot face paint anybody with cold sore, conjunctivitis, sties, head lice, open sore or other obvious rashes or abrasions.
Can the face paints stain clothing?
Any accidental marks on clothing should come out with a wash in biological washing powder… If not a soak in OxiClean or similar will normally remove stubborn marks.
What kind of temporary tattoos do you offer?
Glitter tattoos are applied to the skin using cosmetic adhesive and cosmetic glitter. If looked after carefully they can last up to 5 days and are safe in the bath, shower, sea or pool. These are extremely popular with boys, girls and adults and there is a large range of designs to choose from. Not suitable for use on the face or children under 3 years old.
Temporary Ink tattoos are applied using dauber inks and can last up to 5 days if looked after carefully. They are safe in the bath, shower, sea or pool and are easily removed with soap, water and a soft flannel. Again these are very popular with boys, girls and adults and are a painless alternative to the real thing! Not suitable for use on the face or children under 3 years old.
